Kelowna theatre-goers, hold onto your detective hats — something fiendish is afoot.

This March the Red Dot players are set to transport attendees to London, 1889 in a thrilling new adaptation of The Hound of the Baskervilles, bringing the legendary detective mystery to life with a fresh twist of humor and a modern sensibility.

Join Sherlock Holmes and her colleague Dr. Jane Watson as the dynamic duo investigates a most intriguing mystery.

For OC Instructor DeAnna MacArthur portraying Sherlock’s trusty companion Dr. Watson as a woman is a new and exciting challenge.

"Having the opportunity to take on an iconic character, who is not normally played by a female, has been challenging and very fun,” said MacArthur.

“My favorite part has been imagining and creating the relationship between Watson and Sherlock, alongside Amy, who is playing Sherlock Holmes.”

The opportunity to bring a favorite literary character, Sherlock Holmes to life has been a long-time dream for director and OC English Professor Jeremy Beaulne.

“Ever since I read the Illustrated Classic Edition of The Hound of the Baskervilles, Sherlock Holmes has been my favorite literary character,” said Beaulne.

“This production promises all the eerie suspense of the original tale, seasoned with wit and theatrical flair. It follows the intrepid Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Jane Watson as they sniff out the truth behind a devilish mystery on the moors,” said Beaulne.

“Is there a ghostly hound haunting the Baskerville family, or is something more sinister at play? Audiences will have to join the chase to find out,” says Beaulne.

The production will run at the Ƶ Theatre, located at 1000 KLO Road, Kelowna, at the following times:

Thursday, March 13, 7 p.m.
Friday, March 14, 7 p.m.
Saturday, March 15, 7 p.m.
Sunday, March 16, 2 p.m.

Tickets are available through  and will also be sold at the door.

Join Sherlock and Watson as they chase the mystery from the gaslit streets of London to the mist-shrouded moors of Devonshire, unraveling a case that has left even Scotland Yard scratching their heads.
